Hampton Roads Community Foundation Banquet Rooms

This space creates the perfect atmosphere for a variety of versatile events including family reunions, milestone birthdays, anniversary celebrations, and much more! All three banquet rooms feature neutral decor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and audio/visual equipment.

Can I bring my own food and beverage? The Kroc Center Catering Department has a full-service kitchen with a chef that is able to accommodate your needs. No outside food or beverages are permitted with the exception of a cake or cupcakes. We are also a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free facility. Guests should be informed prior to arrival.

Is a deposit required?  For events utilizing The Kroc Center, a 25 percent non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking your event. The final balance will be due seven days prior to the event.

How far in advance do I need to book an event? The Kroc Center requires a minimum of two weeks’ notice is to book an event. Your final guest count, room setup, menu, and itinerary are also due a minimum of two weeks prior to your event.

Are decorations allowed? Decorations must be free-standing. No open flames are allowed, with the exception of birthday candles on cakes in the celebration room. Votive candles must be enclosed in votive holders. All other candles must be in globes or a container where the flame is at least 1” below the rim. No helium balloons are allowed inside the building. Glitter, confetti, silly-string, and garland are not to be used. Decorations may not be taped, pinned, thumbtacked, or in any way adhered to the walls, ceilings, floors, or furnishings. If any prohibited decorations above are being used during your event, a $200 cleaning fee will be added to your event.

Can I play music or have a DJ? The use of any audio/visual equipment owned by The Kroc Center must be agreed upon prior to your event and will be quoted on an individual basis. Only music suitable for public facilities will be allowed and its volume is subject to control by The Kroc Center. Music played may not contain suggestive or profane lyrics.

What is the cancellation policy?  Cancellation of rentals will result in a cancellation fee. In order to change a room reservation, you MUST notify the Event Coordinator in writing.
• More than 90 days prior: Full refund minus the 25% non-refundable deposit
• More than seven days prior, balance is paid in full: 50% deposit
• All sales are final if cancellation is within 7 days of event

How many people can I invite? The Birthday Party Package price includes 1 to 20 guests. This number includes adults and children combined. The birthday child and their family need to be included in this number as well.

What is the maximum number of guests that can attend? We allow 20 guests, but you can add additional guests for $10 each. You can add up to 15 additional people for a total of 35 guests.

• 25 people in Child Watch Center

What is the cost to have a birthday party? The Birthday Party Package starts at $295 plus tax.

Are discounts available? Members of The Kroc Center receive a 10% discount.

What does the package include? The Birthday Party Package includes basic decorations, paper supplies, and your choice of food and beverage. The party includes 1.5 hours of activity time followed by 1 hour of celebration time in a private celebration room.

What activities can I choose from?  We offer 4 different party packages. You can choose from:
• Splash Bash Pool Party (Aquatics Center)
• Rock the Kroc Climbing Party (Gymnasium (Ages 6+))
• Bubble Soccer (Gymnasium (10+ years))
• Jungle Gym (Indoor play area)
Combination parties include two hours of activity time.

What food and beverages can I choose from? During your 1 hour of celebration time in the private party room, you and your guests will be served a meal. You can choose between 4 large pizzas (cheese, pepperoni, or sausage), hot dogs and chips, or chicken tenders and chips. You also have a choice between lemonade or fruit punch and we include ice water. These menu selections will be chosen on the birthday party request form.

Tacking any decorations on the walls and ceiling is not permitted. Helium balloons are not permitted inside the facility. If I arrive late is the time extended? Activity time slots are fixed. Late arrival does not result in the activity time being extended. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, sign waivers, and receive wristbands. Guest should be notified prior to arrival as well.
